Please share a memory of Thomasina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Thomasina (Tommy) V. Delello, 85, of North Utica, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home, Friday evening, November 7, 2014 with her beloved husband, Joseph, at her side. She was born December 7, 1928, in Little Falls, the daughter of Thomas and Catherine (Kubica) Tadyewski. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School and St. Elizabeth's Nursing School Class of 1950. On November 20, 1954, Tommy married Joseph J. Delello in St. Mary's Church, Little Falls, celebrating 60 years of marriage. Tommy was a Registered Nurse in the maternity and emergency rooms of local hospitals in Little Falls, Ilion, Sidney and Utica, retiring from St. Luke's Hospital in 1983. Tommy will be long remembered for her ready and genuine smile, warm laughter and devotion to her family and her many friends. It was the great and small moments shared with her husband, friend and partner Joe, her children and families and all her friends and neighbors (and their children) that she cherished the most in this life. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Joseph of Orange, CA; son Michael and daughter-in-law Ellen, of Schuyler Falls, NY; and son Christopher and daughter-in-law Linda of Granby, CT and Buffalo, NY. Surviving her are her much loved grandchildren, Dominick Delello, Olivia Delello and Dante and Sante Delello and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Dini Tedrowe, Little Falls, best friend, Lee Paul of North Utica, her dear friends, Anna Gray, Shirley Malavasic and Wanda Wantrobe, all of Little Falls and so many other close friends too numerous to mention. She is predeceased by her parents and brother, Edward (Ted) Tedrowe of Indiana. Mrs. Delello's funeral service and Celebration of Life will take place Thursday morning, November 13, 2014 at 11 am at St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 - 7 pm, Wednesday at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Peter's Church, the St. Elizabeth Medical Center Foundation of Utica, NY or any other breast cancer research foundations as rated by Charity Navigator.
