Obituary of Esther B. Nuber

Mrs. Esther B. Nuber, 82, of N. Utica, was called home to the Lord unexpectedly on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Esther was born in Utica on November 21, 1931 the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (McWeeney) Brower. She was raised locally and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy, class of 1950. On October 25, 1952, Esther married John M. Nuber at St. Peter's Church in N. Utica, a loving and devoted union of 28 years until John death in 1980. A one time, she was employed in the retail industry retiring in 1987. Esther enjoyed feeding the birds, picnics, puzzles and family gatherings. A devout catholic, Esther attended Mass at St. Peter's Church and St. Mark's Church both in N. Utica. She was a gentle and caring spirit with great love of home and family. Her greatest joy was the times she spent with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Nuber is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Gary Reynolds of Albany and Mary and Joseph Barone of Utica; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Susan Nuber of Clayton, NY, Gregory and Patricia Nuber of Morganville, NJ and Michael and Arlene Nuber of North Bay, NY; ten cherished grandchildren, John Nuber, Ryan Nuber and his wife Dana, Greg Nuber, Jr., Alison Nuber, Devin Whitford, Matthew Whitford, Michael Nuber, Eric Nuber, Cpl. Jordan Nuber, US Marine Corps and Tori Barone; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lorraine and John Mullaney of Vernon, Helen Gray of Holland Patent, Mary Jones of Schuyler and Barbara and Richard Kelly of Fl; one brother and three sisters-in-law, Benjamin Jr., and Marge Brower of Barneveld, Marion Reed of Rome and Beverly Nuber of Schuyler as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Sharon Brower, sister-in-law, Geraldine Biermann, and four brothers-in-law, Robert Gray, Ted Jones, Robert Nuber and David Reed. Mrs. Nuber's funeral will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Church, 440 Keyes Rd., N. Utica where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, N. Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.
