Donald Arthur Ellis, Jr., 63, a resident of Heritage Health Care Center, Utica, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at the nursing home. Don was born July 12, 1951, in Utica, the son of Donald A., Sr. and Delores (Stefanski) Ellis. He was raised and educated locally, graduating from Utica Free Academy. Don's most recent employment was with Big Lots in North Utica. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Joseph & St. Patrick's Church, Utica. Don is survived by a son, Donald III, and three daughters, Nicole, Mary, and Amanda, and their families, all of Las Vegas; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Alice Ellis, Whitesboro; and a nephew, Michael Ellis, Whitesboro. Mr. Ellis' funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 9:30 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica with Rev. Richard Dellos presiding. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Utica.
