Alice M. Paulson, 108, of the St. Joseph's Nursing Home passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014. Alice was born in Utica on September 1, 1905 a daughter of Manuel and Anna (Sousa) Encarnacao. Alice married Alexander Paulson on August 14, 1943 in Baltimore, MD a blessed union of 48 years until his death on December 24, 1991. Alice is survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Irene Alice , 5 sisters, Matilda Repple, Rena Murray, Anna Leone, Mary Bramer and Virginia Gaffney and 2 brothers, Louis Encarnacao and Manuel Encarnacao. Mrs. Paulson's funeral will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 at the Chapel of St. Joseph's Nursing Home, 2535 Genesee St., Utica. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours will be held at the nursing home on Saturday morning from 10 to 11. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Alice's memory. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the 4th floor staff of the St. Joseph's Nursing Home for all the loving care given to Alice.
