Robert "Bobby" Lorento, 39, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Saturday May 24, 2014 as the result of a Stroke with his loving family and friends by his side. Bobby was born on April 6, 1975 to Barbara Lorento-Ellis and Robert Meyers and was raised in North Utica. Bobby was educated and graduated from the Utica City School District in 1993. Bobby loved movies, and for many years, he was a familiar face and important part of Video to Rol, North Utica where he loved working with his Uncle Brian and Grandfather Michael. Bobby loved spending time with his "Papa" attending many coin shows and trips to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Bobby loved playing golf and softball and was often very comical both on and off the field. Bobby was also employed for a short time as a Corrections Deputy with the Oneida County Sheriff's Department and at Parkway Pizza, both jobs he loved. In 2003 Bobby joined his older brother in Florida, where he worked as a salesman at Sarasota Ford. Bobby was an avid sports fan especially the NY Yankees and NY Giants. Bobby and Gary were able to share a special memory of attending the 2003 World Series. In 2005, after being introduced to the love of his life Adriana Torres-Ramirez, Bobby moved back to Utica where he worked with his friend Dave Marasco as the finance manager for M&M Auto Sales a job he loved and held until the time of his death. He especially loved doing the television commercials with Joe Load. On August 27, 2011 Bobby and Adriana were married and he became both a husband and Step Father. Bobby leaves behind his loving wife Adriana; stepchildren Mariah and Justin and his two boxers Rocky and Adrian; his loving Mother and stepfather, Barbara and Doug Ellis of Utica, Father, Robert and Jean Meyers of Utica; Brothers, Gary Lorento of Bradenton Fl, and Zachary Ellis of Utica; Sisters, Jamie Meyers and Mike Timpano of Clinton and Tori Ellis of Utica, a very special Niece, Bianca "Lover" Timpano; two close friends considered his brothers, Tony Evangelista and Matt Beck; his loving Grandmother, Patricia Lorento of Utica; his Uncles, Brian "B" Lorento and Samantha Bun of Utica and Michael and Diane Lorento of Galena IL; Aunts Donna and Andy Manley, Patty and Tom Gogola, Godmother Theresa and Chuck Haddad, Chrissy and Mike LaBarbera and Kathy Lorento all of the Utica Area, and Mary and Rene Bruyere of Denver NC as well as several cousins. Also surviving are his Brother-in-Law, Carlos Torres; Sister's-in-Law, Shameeka Torres and Tia Mitchell-Torres and many friends including Dave and Mike Faccioli, Jorge and Janet Ramos, Dave Marasco, Davie Brough, Keith Johnson, Pat Gualtieri, Giordano Bevivino, Ant Dessaro, Mary Kay Vatalaro, Adam Chmura, Joe Rich, and many, many others. Bobby is predeceased by his Grandfather and best friend Michael "Iron Mike" Lorento, his Mother in Law, Alicia Torres and Childhood Friend Joey Olivadoti. The family would like to thank the efforts of the Utica Fire Department, the Doctors and Nurses at St. Luke's Hospital, especially Dr. Joseph Booth, Dr. Scott Brehaut, CCU Nurses Darlene and Diana for the care and compassion shown to Bobby and his entire family. Bobby was always a very generous person, going above and beyond to help others, and the family would like to announce that he was made an organ donor so that the gift of life could be made as a result of this tragedy. In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be made to the Center for Donation & Transplant, New York-Vermont, 218 Great Oaks Blvd., Albany, NY 12203. Bobby's final wishes were to be cremated. A memorial Mass in remembrance of his life with be celebrated on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 2222 Genesee St., Utica. Bobby's family will greet visitors at the conclusion of the Memorial Mass. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica.
