Obituary of Ruth Mae Ashliman

Mrs. Ruth Mae Ashliman, 85, a resident of the Masonic Care Community in Utica, formerly of Forestport, NY, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the nursing home. Ruth was born in Pikesville, KY on September 15, 1928. On July 18, 1953, Ruth married Clyde L. Ashliman, a devoted union of 53 years until Clyde's death in 2006. At one time, Ruth was employed with the Genesee Nursing Home in Utica and for over 20 years, with the Masonic Home until her retirement. Ruth was a caring person who loved animals, especially her dogs, who meant the world to her. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Ashliman is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Butch Rishar of NC and Mary and John Keller of Utica; three grandchildren, Rocky, Randy and Rose as well as great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Christopher Ashliman. Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Crown Hill Memorial Park, Route 12 in Kirkland. There are no calling hours.
