Obituary of Harry P. Stephens

Mr. Harry P. Stephens, 68, entered into rest on Sept. 18, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center after fighting a courageous medical battle. Harry was born on Dec. 24, 1949 in Beckley, WV, son of the late Gordon and Ann (Parkulo) Stephens. He attended Utica schools and was a graduate of Proctor High School. Harry retired after 39 years of working at Utica College with great pride. He married Sandra “Peppy” (Head) Donatelli on October 26, 2003. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, camping at Ta-Ga-Soke, listening to country music, visiting the Turning Stone and he was an avid NASCAR fan. Mr. Stephens is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra, stepchildren, Debra, Rena, Joseph, Sandra and James Hazeltine, Kim Chapple, Sandra (Steve) Eberley, Tammy (Paul) Filletti, and Anthony (Jennifer) Donatelli as well as 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson. Also surviving are his siblings, James (Patricia) Stephens, Robert (Albina) Stephens, Sandy (Jim) Marine, Joni (Rene) Zayas and brother-in-law Douglas Testa and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy (Head) Stephens, siblings, Mary Ann and Charles Stephens, and sister-in-law Carol Testa. Calling hours for family and friends are Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. with a short prayer service to follow at Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd. in N. Utica.
