Obituary of Harold J. Knobloch

Mr. Harold J. Knobloch, 93, of N. Utica, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Faxton-St. Luke's healthcare in New Hartford with his loving family by his side. Harold was born in Utica on March 4, 1920 the son of Alvin and Martha (Dudek) Knobloch. He was raised in Utica, attended Seymour school and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and Excelsior School of Business. He later attended Utica College of Syracuse University and received his electrical engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a US Navy veteran, Harold proudly served as a Chief Radioman in the South Pacific during WW II. On July 4, 1945, Harold married Evelyn J. Joslin at St. Peter's Church in N. Utica. For 60 years, he was employed with Divine Brothers in Utica, retiring in 1985 as Senior Vice President and Treasurer and was currently serving on the board of Directors at Divine Brothers. For many years, Harold was a dedicated youth baseball coach in N. Utica. He was a founding member of the Miller Park Association and a long time member of the Genesee Poultry Association. He enjoyed reading, was an avid bowler, and a true outdoorsman who especially loved hunting and fishing. Harold was a member of St. Peter's Church in N. Utica. Mr. Knobloch is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn; one daughter, Patricia Knobloch of Utica and formerly of NY City; two sons, David Knobloch of Ohio, NY and Ken Knobloch of Utica; two nieces, Jacquelyn Knobloch and Elizabeth (Beth) Ricci; two nephews, Alvin Knobloch and Richard Knobloch as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Alvin and Martha and two brothers, John Albert Knobloch and Alvin (Junior) Knobloch. Mr. Knobloch's funeral will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in N. Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Foundation, 1656 Champlin Ave., New Hartford, NY 13413 in Harold's memory.
