Doris L. Cieply, 86, formerly of Barneveld, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Faxton- St. Luke's Healthcare Center after a brief illness, with her loving family at her side. Doris was born in Yorkville, NY, on March 4, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Lillian (Farr) Lipinski. She was raised and educated in the Utica school system. On May 21, 1949, in New York Mills, Doris was married to Lawrence W. Cieply, a blessed union until his passing in 1986. For a number of years, until her retirement in 1997, Doris was employed with the Holland Patent Schools. An avid bowler, Doris was a member of the Women's Bowling Association. Doris loved her camp in the Northwoods, where she would spend her time at " Camp George "with her sister and best friend, Georgia . Her favorite pastimes were spent reading, knitting, watching Jeopardy, and cherishing her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doris is survived by her two daughters and son, Karen Lee Slusarczyk of Barneveld, Laurie Ann Cieply of Barneveld, and Lawrence W. Jr. and his wife LuAnn Cieply of Barneveld; two grandchildren, Andrew Cieply, and Danielle and her husband Shay Johnson; three great grandchildren, Alexis Lynn, Alyssa Rose, and Alysin Shae Johnson, all of Barneveld; and one sister, Georgia and her husband Walter Kudla of Whitesboro. Mrs. Cieply's funeral will be held Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM, at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Her calling hours at the funeral home, will be held Sunday, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Her burial will be at Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland, NY.
