Obituary of Frances Trunfio Craska

Mrs. Frances (Trunfio) Craska, 86, of Ilion, formerly of Cosby Manor Rd., Utica, passed away Tuesday September 10, 2013 at her Home. Frances was born in Utica on February 12, 1927 the daughter of Dominic and Nancy (Baggnato) Trunfio. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School. On May 25, 1961, Frances married Alexander (Alec) John Craska at St. Agnes Church in Utica, a loving union of 39 years until Alec's death in 2000. For a number of years, she was employed with Willie's Motors, A1 Auto Parts, Trunfio's Restaurant and finally with C.P. Craska, Inc. in Ilion. Frances was a member of St. Peter's Church in N. Utica, Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Ilion and enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading. She will be remembered as an individual who loved to work, and her dedication to her employers was unmatched. She was happiest when she was at work at C.P. Craska Trucking, working with her son Kevin and the entire Craska family. Mrs. Craska was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Amy Craska of Frankfort; cherished grandchildren, Alexander John Craska, II, Jordan Alexina Craska and Mackenzie Taylor Craska all of Frankfort; one sister, Angela Kistowski of Marcy; one brother and three sister-in-law, Michael and Mary Ann Trunfio of NY Mills, Sara Trunfio of Marcy and Helen Zielinski of Clinton; one brother-in-law, Gene Greco of Marcy as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marian Clendennen and Nancy Greco and three brothers, Joseph (Pappy) Trunfio, Danny Trunfio and Tony Trunfio. Mrs. Craska's funeral will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, N. Utica where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Rite of Committal and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Utica.
