Robert M. Costantine, 77, of Schuyler passed away at home on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 with his family by his side. Bob was born in Utica on March 26, 1936, a son of the late Ambrose and Concetta (Rufini) Costantine. Bob proudly served his country in the Marine Corp from 1953 to 1957. In Fulton, NY in 1963 he was united in marriage to Mary Roberts. For many years until his retirement in 1997 he owned and operated Beacon Printing in Utica. Bob was a member of the Mohawk Valley Marine Corp League and the Devil Dogs and Past Commander of both American Legion Post #229 and Western Memorial Post. For 25 years Bob coached CYO basketball. Bob is survived by his wife, Mary, three sons, Michael Costantine and wife Pam, Schuyler, Warren Costantine and wife Gina, Sauquoit and Marc Costantine and fiancée Brandie Guarno, Poland, eight grandchildren, Miranda, Logan, Lacey, Justin, Sydney, Hannah and Slater Costantine and Preston Hart. a brother, Ambrose Costantine and wife Joy, CA and his lifelong friend, Skip Reynolds, Waterville. Bob was predeceased by 4 sisters, Liz Antonik, Jojo Antonik, Loretta Sliwinski and Cookie Heaton. A funeral service with Military Honors for Mr. Costantine will be held on Friday evening at 7:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 5-7. Those so wishing may make donations to Hospice & Palliative Care in Bob's memory.
