Mr. Albert (Al) M. Dellers, 83, of New Hartford, passed away Monday May 27, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica with his loving family by his side. Albert was born in Utica on August 12, 1929, the son of Otto and Hilda (Rimmele) Dellers. He was raised in Oriskany and was a graduate of Oriskany High School. Al honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War. At one time, he was married to Virginia Leuthauser Dellers until her death. On July 15, 1989, Albert married Darlene DeSalvatore in Utica. For many years, Albert, along with his family, owned and operated Dellers Restaurant in Utica. For the past five years, Al was employed with The Central Association for The Blind and Visually Impaired. He was a member of American Legion Post 1376 in New Hartford and enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved flowers. He was of the Catholic Faith. Mr. Dellers is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene; one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Andrea Dellers of Hilton Head, SC; two step-daughters, Tiffany Accattato and her Husband John of New Hartford and Tanya Gout and her husband Willem of Newport, NY; cherished grandchildren, Greg Dellers, Arron Dellers, Allen Dellers, Nina, Anthony and Richard; one sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Louis (Weis) Kallasy of Utica; one brother, Bob Dellers of Stanwix, NY; cousins, Matt and Ann Castellucci and Kurt Hoch all of Oriskany Falls, NY as well as several nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was predeceased by a son, Bob Dellers and a sister, Amanda Skermont; Mr. Dellers' funeral will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 11:00 at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church in Utica, where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Rite of Committal and burial with military honors will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
