Mrs. Natividad Roman, (affectionately known as Cookie) 62, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford with her loving family by her side. Natividad was born in Lares, Puerto Rico on June 24, 1950, the daughter of Louis and Providencia (Perez) Roman and received her education in NY City. For many years, Natividad was employed as a bus aide with First Student in Utica. She enjoyed gardening, movies, puzzles and reading, but her true joy was spending time with her cherished grandchildren. Mrs. Roman is survived by three daughters, Rose Cotrich of Utica, Thalia Cotrich-Brewer and her husband James of Whitesboro and Towonda Wells and her husband Levan of Rome; two sons, Manuel Cotrich and his wife Karen of Utica and Matthew Roman and his fiancée Tasha Rabideau of Utica; two sisters, Carmen Martinez and her husband Eugenio of NY City and Wanda Roman and her Husband Juan Aponte of Puerto Rico; two brothers, Sigilfredo Roman and Louis Roman, Jr., both of NY City; 16 cherished grandchildren, Manuel, Melvin, Cynthia, Mariyah, Anthony, Emmanuel, Fabian, Christian, Shaniya, Alec, Emmanuel, Joseph, Brianna, Anastasia, Josiah and Analysa, as well as 1 great grand daughter and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mrs. Roman will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for family and friends are Friday from 11:00-2:00 prior to the service.
