Mrs. Josephine (JoJo) J. Antonik, 87, of Marcy, passed away peacefully on Friday May 3, 2013 at her home with her loving family by side. Josephine was born in Utica on August 7, 1925 the daughter of Ambrose and Concetta (Ruffini) Costantine. She was raised locally, was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Special Education from Antioch College in Ohio. On June 2, 1953, Josephine married Frank Antonik in Kingsport, TN, a loving and devoted union of 35 years until Frank's death in 1988. Josephine enjoyed books, gardening and was a parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica. Mrs. Antonik is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Jim Archer of Rochester, NY, Susan and Thomas Ellebracht of Smithfield, VA, Roberta and John McCann of Gravesville, NY and Patricia and Joseph Shealey of Raleigh, NC; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Andrew Antonik of Paducah, KY, Paul and Cathy Antonik of Poland, NY, Joseph and Celia Antonik of Utica, Michael and Olga Antonik of Ontario, CA and Matthew and Tatianna Antonik of Lawrence, KS; thirteen cherished grandchildren, Frank, Jennifer, Andie, Anna, William, Tara, Melissa, John Robert, Sidney, Andrea, Joseph, David and Scarlett; one adored great granddaughter, Lynlee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Mary Costantine and Ambrose (Junior) and Joy Costantine as well as several nieces and nephews and her feline companion, Waffles. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Marsha Finn-Antonik and three sisters, Elizabeth Antonik, Olga (Cookie) Heaton and Loretta Sliwinski. Mrs. Antonik's funeral will be held on Monday May 6, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Rite of committal and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.
