Dear Douglas, It has been a long time since I last saw your mother but nonetheless I was very, very sorry to hear of her passing. As your next-door neighbor for so many years, I saw your mother as a woman who was always full of energy, who had always had a positive outlook on life, and who loved her family deeply. I hope that you are doing well and want you to know that I was sorry to read in your mother's obituary that David had passed away. I am sure that this was hard for all of you.
