On Saturday, August 11, 2018 the Lord called on G. Gino Nunno, 83, of New Hartford, NY: “Gino, I need an expert property investment manager up here quickly. We have plenty of supplies - all of the duct tape, power tools, and wall board that you could possibly need. Endless supplies of Voss’, Brooklyn Pickle, Pasta Sauce, Sausage & Peppers and other delicacies my team knows you love. We even brought back Utica Club and Fort Schuyler for you. You thought the Adirondack Lakes were nice? Wait until you see the endless mountains, lakes and natural beauty where you’re going. You’re going to love it here!“ Gino was welcomed into heaven by his parents Leonard and Amelia (D’Amelio) Nunno Sr., sisters and brothers, Teresa (Tess) Nunno, Carmen and Margaret Nunno, Josephine and Maurice Caldwell, Leonard Nunno, Jr., Vittrino (Victor) Nunno, Umberto (Rocky) Nunno, Lucretia and Raymond Crouse, Rose Marie and Nick Crescenzo and sister in law Regina Carney Guiney . Gino was born in Utica on July 22, 1935. He grew up in West Utica on Whitesboro & Cherry Streets. Gino attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, St Francis DeSales Middle School and Whitesboro High School. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, and attended local colleges MVCC and Utica College. Gino was most proud of his close-knit family, especially his wife, children and grandchildren. On May 7, 1960, Gino was united in marriage to Beatrice M. Carney at St. Mary’s Church, Little Falls, NY. Together they built their family, a daughter and son-in-law Michelle (Shelly) Nunno-Evans and Bob Evans of Rome, NY, grandchildren Tyler Evans, Colorado Springs, Co and Tessa Evans, Rome, NY; a son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Natalia Nunno, grandchildren Angelina and Michael Nunno, Lansdowne, VA; a son Steven Nunno and partner Helene Dube, New Hartford, NY, and her children Chanel, Mona, and Paul. He leaves his sister and brother-in-law (his best friends), Amelia and Bob Johnson, Brooksville, Florida, a sister in-law Dory Nunno-Wroblerski, New Hartford, NY, nieces Anna Marie and Elizabeth Anne Nunno, Utica, NY; in-laws; Walter Guiney of Little Falls, NY, Jane and Joseph DiMura, Valatie, NY, Jack and Louise (Peachy) Carney, Herkimer, NY, Carol Carney, Little Falls, NY; Gino is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, all of whom knew that he was available for them at all times. Gino was an independent, self-employed Realtor for 56 years, having founded and directed Nunno Real Estate. Gino is a past president of the Greater Utica Board of Realtors and was voted Realtor of the Year in 1977. Gino was also a real estate investor, having owned and managed many different properties across the greater Utica area. He has always been active in community service. Gino was a founding member of the New York Mills Optimist Club, a member of the New Hartford American Legion, and a member of Our Lady of The Rosary parish. Gino was proudly active and working until the day he went to be with the Lord. Gino was surrounded by a great many close family friends and neighbors with special mention to the Richard and Sandra Kehrli family, Yorkville, NY, the Richard Rondenelli family, New Hartford, NY, Denise Felski, New Hartford, NY, and Lance Washington, Utica, NY. Gino cherished his time spent at his Adirondack family camp in Inlet NY and enjoyed spending time talking business, politics and family with his friends at the Court Vue Luncheonette over the years. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Joseph G. Battaglia and his cardiology team, Syracuse, NY, for 30 years of health care, compassion and friendship. Dr. B always treated the man not the disease. Gino highly respected and valued Dr. B’s friendship and expertise. A special thank you for the following dedicated health care professionals: Davita nurses Denise and Joelle and Nephrology associates of Syracuse, NY, nursing staffs at 4 North ICU and ER at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital, and all of the dedicated nurses and medical professionals that positively impacted his outcomes over the years. A Catholic mass of celebration will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford, NY.
