James P. "Jim" Clark, 70, of Whitestown. passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, with his family by his side. James was born on November 11, 1942 to Gordon and Cecilia (Goodwin) Clark. He served his country with the US Army from 1963 to 1965. On September 2, 1967, Jim married Joyce M. Wickman at St. Paul's Church in Whitesboro, and was blessed to spend the next 45 years together. He was employed by the NYS Dept. of Transportation, until his retirement in 1989. Jim was an avid NASCAR fan and, along with his wife, enjoyed watching his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce, Whitestown; three sons and their spouses, James and Jennifer Clark, Whitesboro, who helped take care of Jim, William and Gabrielle Clark, Vancouver, WA, who were in constant touch and were there when needed, Michael and Paula Clark, Rome; one daughter, Jodi Clark, Concord, NC; six cherished grandchildren, James (Jay), Jesse, Amber, Sara, and Matthew Clark, and Cody Henderson. He also leaves a sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Lynn Paquette, Deerfield; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Ruth Clark, Holland Patent, as well as by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim is predeceased by In-laws, Walter and Doris Wickman. A Memorial Mass will be held for Mr. Clark on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11:30 am at St. Paul's Church in Whitesboro. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown. In honor of Jim's wishes, there are no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Those wishing may donate to the American Heart Association or to the Burn Unit At SUNY Upstate Medical University in Jim's memory. The family offers a special thank you to the hospital staff in both the Burn Unit and the ICU of SUNY Upstate Medical University for the care and compassion shown to James and his family at this most difficult time. Also a special thank you to Deacon Chris Engel for all of his help and prayers and to the many people for all of the prayers sent Jim's way. "Rest in peace - dear husbandtil we meet again"
