Rosemary "Rorie" Roth, 87, of the Presbyterian Home, formerly of North Utica passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. Rorie was born in Utica on November 18, 1925 a daughter of Rocco and Mary (Mangano) Casalette. She was raised and educated in Utica receiving her education from Mt. Carmel Elementary School and Proctor High School. At Blessed Sacrament Church, Utica on April 28, 1951 Rorie was united in marriage to Francis "BooBoo" Roth a blessed union of 59 years until his death on October 31, 2010. Rorie was an excellent waitress in the Utica area having worked at the Triangle Coffee Shop, Howard Johnsons Restaurant and the Waffle House. She was a member of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, Utica. Rorie loved to play Bingo with her sisters and thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Las Vegas. She will always remembered for all the beautiful sweaters she knitted for family and friends thru the years. It was a special talent that brought great joy to Rorie and those lucky enough to be the recipient. Most important to Rorie was the special and cherished moments she spent with her grandsons-they were the apple of her eye. Rorie is survived a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Cindy Roth, Utica, two grandsons, Robert and Connor Roth, Utica, two sisters-in-law, Arlene Roth and Jane Roth, New Hartford and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Frances and James Johnpoll, Elaine and Charles Heaton, Joanne Casalette, and Carol Schavone, a nephew, James Johnpoll Jr. and her step-father, Sal Casalette. Mrs. Roth's funeral will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 8:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica and at 9:30 from St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, Utica. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 5 - 8. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make donations to the Tourette Syndrome Association in Rorie's memory. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral home. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the outstanding staff of the Presbyterian Home especially the Cedar Wing and to the Doctors and Nurses of the CCU of St. Luke's Hospital for the care and compassion given to Rorie
