Marie Neejer. Caring. Sincere. Attentive. Kind. Patient. Loving. As a new caseworker from Oneida County D.S.S. back in the early 1980s, Marie Neejer lit the way for me and other caseworkers to learn. Visiting her home , bringing children who needed a temporary home ... she would be gracious and welcoming. She was always cooking! Nothing really upset or worried Marie. She just loved and respected kids. Plain & Simple. She greeted them where they were in their lives. She wasnt pushy . She instinctively knew the gentleness needed by every child. Rest easy, Mrs. Neejer. Rest easy , Marie. You shared your joy, your love and your compassion with so many. You started a ripple effect of human understanding in this world. You were one in a million. Thank you , Mrs. Neejer. My sympathies to all.
