There’s not much I remember from my childhood, but most of what I do remember involves Grandma Borowiec and all of the time I spent at her house.
Some of my favorite memories -
* playing games while we waited for my dad to come pick me up - guessing the next car color that would pass
* she’d always tell me to “run to the woods and back” before giving me dessert, usually ice cream :)
* she would always ask me why there were so many holes in my jeans (that’s just the style grandma, please don’t patch them lol)
* we’d go to price chopper and the bank to run errands
* I am probably in the 1% of people in the world that ate baby food even into my pre-teens because of her - she’d mix it with noodles or mashed potatoes and it was delicious :)
* Grandma Marie would always visit and it was always the same, entertaining conversations each time, usually ending with eye rolls from Grandma Marie :)
Most importantly, she was no-nonsense (she let me know when I was not behaving and didn’t sugarcoat anything ever), no excuses and kept herself busy always. Such a special, unique woman - I’m so lucky to have spent so much time with her as I was growing up and shared so many memories.
Love you Grandma Borowiec - I hope you found Grandma Marie and can keep her in line up there <3
