So very sorry to hear about Howard’s passing. I served with Howie in the Navy during the early eighties up in Brunswick, Maine. He was extremely well liked by all of his shipmates and he always had a smile on his face and made everyone laugh. Everyone that served with him extends condolences to the Shanley family and loved ones. May he RIP.

Sending my sincere sympathy to the Shanley family. It has been 10 yrs since I lost my fellow die hard Mets fan that stopped me from smashing a few televisions ,a lifelong hunting partner that I had to convince we couldn't shoot all the deer in Cooperstown, but most of all a great friend
. Today you're in my thoughts and prayers, but the fun laughter and memories are etched in my mind forever.Rest in peace my friend
