I use to enjoy running into Joe at the feast at Saint Anthony’s church in East Utica and talking with him about photography. He was always a friendly face and had a charismatic personality. My prayers are with Floy and his family. I will truly miss him.

Papa I will never forget your laugh I can still hear it now. You would laugh after you would say a joke while I was on the phone with nana you always knew how to push her buttons. I will never forget all the mornings spent watching morning joe with you while you drank your coffee with you favorite dog Buddy. I know you are up there sharing coffee with Buddy with the biggest smile on your face. Fly high papa we all love and miss you so much already, but I know you are watching over all of us. I'm so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I grew up in North Utica with Joe and his brothers and sisters. Through the years my husband and I would run into him and Floy while shopping. He never changed - always a smile and a friendly conversation that brought me back to when we were kids. My love and prayers are with everyone.

Joe was my best friend through high school. He was a wonderful person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. I remember our many adventures as kids exploring the woods and nearby canal, his love of photography, the large fish tank that always had a new tropical fish, bowling on Saturdays, and conversations about our lives and solving the problems of the world. Over the years life carried us on different paths and from time to time I would hear about Joe’s new adventures, his happy marriage, his wonderful children and then grandchildren, the joy he had from becoming the patriarch of a warm and loving family. It felt good to know that my friend had found a life of peace and love that so many of us seek. It was particularly sad when I learned that Joe, with so much life left to live, had passed well before his time. He was a special soul who touched more people than he probably realized. He will be sadly missed
