Love you, Grandma B. You were always there for us when we were children. I'd come over once or twice a week, and you and Papa always opened the door with a smile. You taught me so much, especially about sewing, painting, and gardening. I will always think of you when I'm harvesting herbs, identifying plants, or trimming my roses. I loved walking around the yard with you, listening to you share the names and healing properties of plants. It was those quiet moments of shared admiration for the natural world that stand out the most for me. You taught me to really stop and smell the flowers, to notice the varied color in a petal, and the shapes in a tree canopy. I didn't realize it at the time, but you were teaching me such important skills. I'm a better writer and human being as a result. I try to pass these same gentle, observant lessons on to my own daughter.
I will keep your memory alive. Those who are remembered live. <3
