Obituary of Irene E. Lehner

SCHUYLER-Mrs. Irene E. Lehner, 95, of Utica, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Abraham House, Utica, with her loving family at her side.

     Irene was born in Utica, on April 18, 1927, the daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Hagel) Roth.  She was raised and educated in Utica, where she attended St. Joseph St. Patrick Catholic School.  On August 20, 1949, Irene was united in marriage with James H. Lehner, a loving and devoted union of 64 years, until James’s death on October 30, 2013.  Irene worked at General Electric on the assembly line most of her adult life.  Irene was very fond of all sorts of flowers, they filled inside and outside of her home.    

     Mrs. Lehner is survived by a daughter Sandra Madore and her husband Charles, Utica, daughter-in-law Tamera Lehner, MO, grandson Steven Madore and his girlfriend Angie, granddaughter Susan Madore, great granddaughter Adalyn Morrock, great grandson Sean Madore, sister-in-law Patricia Roth and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son, James Lehner and two brothers Donald Roth and George Roth.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Mrs. Lehner’s funeral service on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 11:00 AM from Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 408 Herkimer Road, Utica.  Visitation will be prior to the funeral service at 10AM to 11AM.  She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Yorkville, NY
