I'm so sorry to hear of Dan's Roy's passing. Dan was a true friend to me when I first began working the Friday night overnight shift on WRUN in 1981. We would go on to be friends for several years and shared countless laughs about radio, records, DJ's and many radio biz things. He was assigned to teach me the ropes by Program Director Fred Horton, and helped me get through my first (nerve wracking shift) with patience and grace. We also were among the first small group of jocks (along with Bill Early (Bailey) and Ray Kallai (Keller) that Fred Miller tapped (after Horton left) to staff the new (in 1982) "live" WKGW (KG-104). Good times!
I never saw Dan once get angry.... bothered, but not angry. The word "mensch" comes to mind. Dan was certainly that, a good person.
My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
