To Kim's family my sincere condolences. I knew Kim only through Leo's Barber Shop and was a customer for 20+ years while working at Utica National and have continued making the drive from Sherrill to New Hartford for the 8 years since my retirement. I generally posted my name to the board requesting either Kim or Heather and loved to hear the banter of the ladies, who were obviously very close and felt like I knew them and their families as the result of these conversations. Despite not being particularly tall, we laughed as I had to "scrunch down" to enable Kim to work her magic on my hair. Today, Tuesday, June 20th, I drove to New Hartford for a haircut and was taken aback to see that shop was closed. I then noticed the handwritten note saying that the closure was for staff to attend "friend and co-worker Kimmie's funeral." I returned to my car and spent several emotional minutes reflecting on the loss of such a young, kind and talented young woman. I had no idea she suffered from MS as she undoubtedly hid her fight to spare people feeling sorry for her. Rest in peace Kim, you made quite an impression countless people personally and professionally. God Bless!

My family has known Kim for 2 generations.If Leo was not available, she cut my husbands hair , then he started bringing his mother to her and lastly I was her customer. Like many others, I always waited for her because she was a good listener and cut your hair just as you wished. Not to mention it always looked great ! Kim was a sweet and gentle person, always wanting to know how things were going for you, never talking of her problems and always speaking lovingly of family. It is with a heavy heart that I write this message. I have been going to Leo's barber shop for over 35 years. There were two women that cut my hair 90% of the time, Liz and of course Kim. From the day I first met her she was kind and sweet and we always talked about what was going on in our lives. She was a kind soul and I will miss those converstations. Rest is Peace,

For many years I looked forward to getting my hair cut by Kim at the Barber shop. She had a quiet way of attentively listening to my woes or joys and her thoughts or advice were straight-forward and heartfelt. Some of my favorite memories involve sharing of stories about our fat, often difficult but much loved cats Rue (Kim's cat) and Maddy (mine). One memory that stands out was when Kim found out I was planning on doing my own hair and makeup for my daughters wedding she wouldn't have it. She recruited Laurel and they both "dolled me up" the morning of the wedding in the back room of the barber shop between giving haircuts!! I will never forget the sweetness of that gesture that set me on a calm path for the rest of the day. I came to believe that Kim appreciated and found joy in simple things and knew she found special meaning in the phrase "Be Still". To Kim's beloved Mark, her family and friends and cherished cat Rue I am deeply sorry for your loss. To Kim, I will miss you dearly, I love you, and will never forget. Amanda

I was deeply saddened to hear of Kim's passing. My sincere condolences go out to her family and friends.
Over the many years that I had the privilege of sitting in Kim's chair, we had many great meaningful ten minute conversations. We spoke of faith and church, and the beautiful days of summer. She never once mentioned her own illness and struggles, but offered me encouragement when my own son was going through chemotherapy. Truly a selfless person.

My dear, sweet, beautiful cousin-
You have no idea how much I wish we could go back in time and find ourselves sitting on Gram’s stairs, waiting for dinner, listening to arguments about cooking the turkey upside down…and then there was the year we said the heck with it and took off in the camaro to McDonald’s!
