Ms. Laura A. Misiaszek, 66, of New Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford, with her loving family by her side.

She was a graduate of New Hartford High School and attended MVCC.  In 1979, Laura founded and became the owner and operator of the Olde Wicker Mill in New Hartford as well as numerous additional locations in Central New York.  Her tireless work ethic and commitment to every detail was second to none. She faced many challenges in her life and was always able to overcome them and become stronger from it. Laura enjoyed attending her sons various sporting events, loved long car rides and found beauty in a simple sunflower.  She will be remembered as a selfless and giving person who had a heart of gold, always putting the needs of others before her own.  Family was the most important aspect to Laura, especially her cherished grandchildren, Addison and Jacob, as well as Richard’s cherished grandchildren, all of whom she truly adored. She was of the Catholic faith.

Laura is survived by her two loving sons and one daughter-in-law, David and Katy Misiaszek of Camillus, NY and Brandon Misiaszek of New Hartford; her beloved companion, Richard Rintrona of New Hartford; her sons half-sister, who Laura consider to be a daughter, Meghan and Thomas Guca of Oriskany; two cherished grandchildren, Addison and Jacob; four brothers and one sister-in-law, Gary Payne of Rome, James and Mindy Payne of TX, Keith Payne of Oriskany and David Payne of Utica; Richard’s children and grandchildren who Laura loved as her own and always made them feel like an important part of her family; dear friends, Jill Hamlin and Elizabeth Kearns, as well as nieces, nephews and her close family and friends from the Olde Wicker Mill. She was predeceased by her parents, Keith and Joyce.
