Mr. Douglas J. Richardson, 76, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Wynn Hospital, Utica.

Doug was born in Oswego, NY on January 11,1947, the son of the late David and Doris (Porter) Richardson.  Doug was raised and graduated from Oriskany High School, Class of 1965.  Doug was employed as an Office Manager from several business over the years, but he finishes his career at Richards Tire and Auto Service.  On February 14, 2002, Doug was united in marriage to the former Evelyn Yacobelli.  Doug was a faithful member of the 40 & 8 Club, he enjoyed doing research on his computer and was involved in Drum Corps.  Doug was outgoing and had a memory that was exceptional. Decades passed and he remembered fine details. He had a good Father/Son relationship with his son Marc. He was proud of his many talents one example is his photographic skills. Whenever he needed an extra hand Marc was always there.  Doug never needed a calendar to know when his favorite teams Syracuse Orange and NY Yankees were playing, Tracie and her family were vigilant in staying on top of it for him. They had many good talks about them. He always looked forward to her good cooking too. He enjoyed watching Cait as she developed riding talents and horse shows. Now she is passing on those skills to her children.  He dabbled in cooking& was exceptional with his scalloped potatoes and bread pudding, He always had gold dollars to give for good report cards and stressed the importance of a good education, which his grandchildren have made him proud. He was a very proud Grandfather to his 6 grandchildren and his 4 step grandchildren watching them grow to who they are today. They will all have many good memories of him as he has touched their hearts leaving his imprint there. He was a very good man loved by many who will truly miss him as we continue on our journey.

Doug is survived by wife of nearly 22 years Evelyn Byrne-Richardson, daughters Tracie Esposito and her husband Joseph and their children Joey and Jenna, Cait Schuler and her children Colten, Tyler, Elizabeth and Nolan, son Marc Richardson.  Doug was predeceased by his sister Doreen Pearce.
