Obituary of Myra Jean Eldridge

Ms. Myra Jean Eldridge, 71, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. 

     Myra was born in Manhattan, NYC, on August 14, 1953, the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Emma (Greene) Eldridge.  Myra was raised and educated in Nassau County,  Long Island.  After high school she attended Syracuse University with hopes of becoming a social worker to help people and children.  Myra proudly served our country in the Army Reserves and was honorably discharged after 10 years of loyal service.  Myra worked for United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) for many years and was employed part-time at Bradlees.  Myra loved sports especially football, she was an avid bowler and her favorite past time was traveling to the casino to play Bingo and entertaining her friends with card & sports watch parties. Myra was also a great cook. 

Myra is survived by her siblings: Alethia Crummer, Rosalie Harris, Ronald Eldridge, Alonzo Eldridge, Michael Eldridge and Terrence Eldridge; sister of deceased Peggy Eldridge and Thomas Eldridge. Myra also leaves behind Doreen Lacey (her Dog) many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. 

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Myra’s memorial visitation on October 19, 2024, from 12(noon)-2PM at the Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica, NY.
