I was so hoping you could have beat this. You will always be remembered as a loving spirited lady who had so much to give to your family, business, and community. Not only did I have the opportunity to know you as a young mother of a pre-schooler at St. Mary’s, but I also got to know you as a great hair stylist and businesswomen. I’ll miss seeing your third son “Baxter” who loved you so much. May heaven be even better than Jamaica!!

A: I will never forget how brave she was. She wasn't afraid to speak up and advocate for herself & those she loved. That says she knew her worth and she wanted others to know theirs. I loved her so much for setting that example. She also knew how to really have fun!

I met Chris when she was 21. We shared an apartment together and boy did we have a lot of fun times together. memories I have always cherished. She was always hard working, set goals for herself and I was so proud of her in all she accomplished.

For over 20 years, I sat in Chris's chair. In-between the snips of hair falling to the floor, the rinses at the sink, and her attempts to wrangle my curly hair into looking like something other than an 80's rock band member-
There were the conversations.
Conversations of growing a family, of aging family members, and of the twists & turns of health and wellness in each of our journeys.
I will miss those conversations.
I will miss sending you my latest photograph-the rise of sun- a petal in the water drops-the hummingbird of Black Bear Mountain-capturing fall light. We both loved the beauty of nature. The grace felt in its presence.
I will miss your warrior-badass mentality when confronted with hard news. The way that you embraced the "hard." You inspired... simply by being you. Positive. Generous. Kind.

Chris was a very dear friend. She was always positive and lived her life to the fullest. She had a huge impact on her community, family, and friends. Baxter was always with her. No one could ask for a better friend, encourager, inspiration and devoted worker. I will truly miss her. My heart is broken. I love you Chris and you will never be forgotten.
