Obituary of Christina Marie (Militello) D'Ambro

Please share a memory of Christina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Christina M. (Militello) D’Ambro, 52, of Remsen, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Christina was born in Utica, on April 20th, 1972, the daughter of Carl Sr. and Joyce (Laribee) Militello. She was raised in Oriskany, was a graduate of Oriskany High School, Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage, and attended Mohawk Valley Community College. At one time, Christina was married to Michael V. D’Ambro Sr., and from the union, the couple had two wonderful sons, Michael and Anthony.

In her career, Chris was the owner and operator of New Attitude Salon and Wellness Spa in Barneveld, a devotion she truly loved. Her work ethic and dedication to her business and clients was second to none. In her free time, Chris enjoyed traveling, playing cornhole, buggy rides in the side by side, bird watching, especially when the cardinals came to visit, tending to her beautiful gardens, taking long walks on sunny days, and watching Wheel of Fortune. She found most joy when she was in her happy place, Jamaica. In recent years, she enjoyed a number of trips with her family members and friends (Kingsley, Shannon & Marcus) creating countless beautiful memories, especially at the swim up bar and on the beach.

Chris was a very giving person who enjoyed sharing her love of hair, massage, and Young Living essential oils with not only her wonderful customers, but with everyone she knew. Christina’s family meant the most to her. Her cherished sons, loving companion, beloved fur baby, along with her extended family and friends were the light of her life. Christina was a parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica.

Christina is survived by her two sons, Michael V. D’Ambro, Jr of Denver, CO and Anthony C. D’Ambro of Utica; her loving companion, Wayne Hajdasz, of Remsen; father, Carl Militello, Sr of Utica; brother, Carl (Angela) Militello, Jr. of Whitesboro; sister, Deborah (Rick) Semeraro, of Utica; sister, Laurie Laterza of Frankfort; and brother, Anthony (Tonya) Militello of Deerfield; Wayne’s daughter and grandson, Carissa (Patrick) and Little Albert Cornelius Shanahan; as well as several nieces and nephews; her “favorite son” and fur baby, Baxter and Grand dog, Bella. Christina was predeceased by her mother, Joyce, brother-in-law, Peter Laterza and Wayne’s father, Albert Hajdasz.
