It never fails to amaze me who God places in our paths in this short lifetime. The first thing that comes to mind is how Jesus came to serve, not to be served. This is how I see and remember Doris: she served so many for so many years. She sacrificed her own life dreams and her family's comfort to give to others. Doris gave of herself, her time, and her energy unselfishly so that others would grow and succeed. She continuously instilled in us to strive to be the best we could be. Doris made every single person feel special, important, and irreplaceable. She brought out the best in everyone and never judged anyone. Doris was filled with enthusiasm and endless energy. She was gifted with wonderful talents in dance, art, music, design, choreography, and writing. She could have been a New York City Radio City Rockette! One of Doris' many gifts included being a mentor not only of the arts, but of life. Doris managed to not only teach me to dance but also to be dependable, have confidence, to be compassionate, to persevere, and to be myself. She has had a great impact on my life...Doris will always be remembered as a humble servant to all those who were blessed to be in her path. Love, The Many Faces of Marcella

I send my heart to the Yager family on the loss of their Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Doris has left a hole in our hearts and she will be missed. I was one of hundreds of former Rhythm-Lites who was positively impacted by Doris. She taught me what responsibility meant and provided me with experiences I never would have had otherwise. I thank her, as well as the Yager family for sharing her with us all.

Doris was truly the "Wind Beneath the Wings" of many a young persons dreams and talents. She encouraged and nurtured all and taught them how to enjoy the ride along the way. My daughter Ann Marie and I will be forever grateful for the guidance and loving care that Doris provided. I am sure if there is dancing and singing in heaven she will be there! Our thoughts and prayer are with Doris' family.

I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to the Yager family. I cherish my fond memories of Doris and being a part of the Rhythm-Lite family in the mid 70's. Doris gave of herself so generously. She gave us immeasurable more than the obvious platform of song and dance. She gave us confidence in ourselves, ability to speak publicly, direction in our lives, belonging, self discipline and responsibility. Looking back, she was a part of forming who many of us are. She had a huge impact on so many children who are now adults spanning age's decades apart. So often I have thought fondly about Doris. I often heard of re-unions after the fact and vowed to make the next one so I could thank her for forming the Rhythm Litesthank her for her dedication, patience and caring. I regret I never made it back. I know you can still hear me now. So, thank you Doris. Thank you for being the beautiful and amazing Doris Yager! I was blessed to have you a part of my life if only a handful of years! Sarenia Kirsch Murphy

Doris was like a second mother to me during my Rhythm-Lite days and her training me for my auditioning for The Rockettes. I,myself, lost my mother on New Year's Eve. So sorry I can't be there for Doris as I am on my way back home to Dallas. I love you Doris. You will be in my heart forever..I know you and my Mom and Dad are dancing on the stairway to Heaven. My deepest sympathy to your family. I love you.
